Kumusta!
Hi! I’m Kristal, the founder and friendly face behind Barkada Coffee. I brew bold, flavorful Philippine-grown coffee here in Portland and share it through pop-ups, catering services, and creative community events.
My mission is simple. Bring people together through good coffee, good stories, and a little Filipino hospitality. If you’re curious about Liberica (Barako), Robusta, Excelsa, or Arabica from the Philippines, you’re in the right spot.
Whether you’re a coffee lover, a culture lover, or just looking for something new and delicious, I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m Kristal.
Barkada.
What it means to me?
Barkada (bar-kah-da) is the Filipino word for your closest crew, the people you can be yourself with, and the ones who just get you.
Coffee is how we slow down together, even for a moment. I chose the name Barkada because sharing Philippine-grown coffee feels like inviting people into that circle, one cup at a time. In a culture of instant everything, we’re here to make room for something real.
Every cup is an invitation to reconnect. Sip with us and stay in the moment!
